Assignments -6-

Hey lady you lady
Cursin' at your life
You're a discontened mother
And a regimented wife

I've no doubt you dream about
The thinds you'll never do
But I wish someone had to talked to me
Like I wanna talk to you

I've been to Georgia and California
And anywhere I could run
Took the head of a preacher man
And we made love in the sun
But I ran out of places and friendly faces
Because I had to be free
I've been to paradise
But I've never been to me

Please lady please lady
Don't just walk away
Cause I have this need to tell you
Why I'm alone today

I can see so much of me
Still living in your eyes
Won't you share a part of a weary heart
That has lived million lies

Oh I've been to Nice and the Isle of Greece
While I sipped champagne on a yacht
I moved like harlot in Monte Carlo
And showed'em what I've got
I've been undressed by kings
And I've seen some things
That a woman ain't supposed to see
Hey Lady I've been to paradise
But I 've never been to me

Sometimes I've been to cryin'
For unborn children
That might have made me complete
But I I took the sweet life
And never knew I'd bitter from the sweet
I spent my life exploring the subtle whoring
That cost too much to be free
Hey lady, I've been to paradise (I've been to paradise)
but I've never been to me

I've been to paradise
but I've never been to me

Assignments -5- Steve Jobs' Adress

Connecting the dots
  • I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out.
  • Much of what I stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later on.
  • You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.
Love and loss
  • I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.
  • Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. You've got to find what you love.
Death
  • Almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.
  • No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there.
  • Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new.
  • Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. Most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
  • Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish

When I listen the address, I feel a lot.  I think about my studies and my future. Just like him, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. And I'm not really sure what I did is correct or not. I just followed the way of my parents expected. Beacause I don't have the courage to trust my curiosity and intuition. I'm not brave enough.

Maybe that is my personality, I always live in someone else's life and try to do my best to meet their expection. That is me, sometimes I felt that I'm so sorry for myself. I hated I'm too weak, I hated that I always care about the feeling of someone else than myself. I want to do the perfect person in front of other people. But no one can be the saint.

Truth be told, I always belive that I do someting good for other people, someday I will get the feedback. But sometime the feedback became the regret. Somebody had told me that "You always think everything you do is good for them ,but actually not. Beacause that's just your thinking" That really broke my heart, then I hated myself again and again.

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. Most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary" This paragarph is my favorite and that is the class I should to learn in my life. Then to be brave.

Assignments -4- Randall's ESL Cyber Listening Lab

  1. A Student Credit Card - Many people have a bad habit , that is "rob Peter to pay Paul". When people buy somthing they wanted without money, they will want to use credit card to pay . When they really need to pay the bill , most of the salaries are gone.
  2. A Healthy Lifestyle - we always love to eat somthing "junk food" ,delicious but not healthy. Then, we also always want to have a perfect shape like model. as the saying goes "You can't have your cake and eat it too "
  3. First Day of Class - This is a kind of listening test I feel difficult. Beacause we need to listen a paragarph with watching the question and find out the answer. So in this part, we need to focus our mind on this.

The first time I knew this website is at the Toiec OK News. But I think the interface in not very clear.  Even though, I have used it sometimes I still miss some information. For example, when we complete the quizzes after listening,we can click quizz script and have another test of text completion.

But, most of that is really a good website for learning English and that is my suggestion for Toeic test preparation.

Hey! Nice to meet you

Hi, dear all:

I'm Candy , major in Bussiness Administration. I'm so glad to be the member of this class, I trust that I will improve my English ability from this calss. Speaking English fluently is the wish of my whole life.

My english name is from my first english teacher. At frist, I didn't like it, beacause I didn't want to be "Food". But now it's different, I love it. The reason is that people will say "Candy ?  oh! so sweet ".... Haha..I know, I know XD.

I'm 22 years old. Because of my baby face and short figure, when people see me first, they always look at me with their unbelivabe eyes and say "you are lying, you look like a child !".  Hey, come on. I really do my best to make my appearance to the same as my age.  I really don't know I should be happy or sad. All right, god blessing me.

I love doing something funny ,  haha...this photo is the one of my favorite photo. Hahaha...shrare with you.
